The Employers’ Confederation Concordia is one of the largest business organizations in our country. It represents 9 federations, meaning more than 1500 companies with over 300.000 employees.

Our objective is to develop a climate of social and professional solidarity, among our members and in our relationships with other employer organizations – nationally and internationally.

Montenegrin Employers Federation (MEF) is an independent, non-governmental, non-political and not-for-profit, representative employer organization based on voluntary membership. Since August 30th 2005, MEF was granted the status of representativity whereby it becomes an umbrella employers’ organization in Montenegro representing as such an independent voice of business at national and international level. Having signed the National Tripartite Agreement on December 28th 2006, MEF became a social partner – an official representative of employers in relation to Government and trade unions. We actively contribute to improvement of business climate and elimination of business barriers providing a wide variety of services to its members. Along with representing the interests of employers in tripartite working groups and bodies at national level that work on the development of legislation, strategies and action plans, MEF services include provision of legal advises in the areas relevant for enterprise operations, economic studies and analyses, seminars and trainings delivery, production of publications, implementation of EU funded projects, and networking activities at national and international level. Besides of being part of BussinesEurope and International Organisazion of Employers (IOE) MEF cooperates with numerous employers’ organizations, international forums and bodies and other entities at international level. Cooperation agreements are signed with Slovenian Employers Organization (ZDS), Serbian Employers Association (UPS), Croatian Employers Association (HUP), Association of Employers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (APBIH), Confederation of Employers of Macedonia (CERM) and Albania (KOPSH), with Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, Association "Italia Opera" and Maltese Employers Association.

Croatian Employers‘ Association (CEA) is a voluntary, non-profitable and independent employers’ organisation, protecting and promoting members’ rights since 1993, and is the first and only representative employers’ organization established in Croatia. CEA’s mission is to create an environment in which employers can realize their potentials and to help them to be more competitive in the global market.
CEA has strong international dimension and is the member of different international organisations: International Organisation of Employers, BusinessEurope, SMEUnited and participates on a regular base in all the annual ILO Conferences, as a sole employers’ representative from Croatia, with good relations with both, IOE and ETUC.

CEA gathers some 6,000 entrepreneurs and employers from all industries, employing some 500,000 workers, active through thirty sectoral associations. Its sectoral organization are also active members of European sectoral umbrella organizations. Its Headquarters are in Zagreb, while there are four regional offices, in Osijek, Rijeka, Split and Varaždin. It employs 45 persons, with full-time employee status.

CEA’s experience in the field is of social dialogue is related to many different EU funded projects, at the sectoral and horizontal levels, important for social dialogue. CEA acted as project leader in several projects financed from the ESF. Within the scope of this tsubject matter, we were leaders of the project »Batos – Bipartism as a Tool for Success«, aimed at strenghtening the bipartite cooperation, with the Association of Employers of Slovenia (ZDS) and International Organisation of Employers’ (IOE). CEA was partner to ZDS in the project WIM2 and WIM 3: Workers’ Involvement – Straight to the Challenges focused on participation of employees in the decision making process.

CEA has a years of experience in EU-funded programmes, but it also often has its own initiatives, such as “CEA Database of Business Women” it was designed according to the already existing similar bases in the world, such as Global Board Ready Women, European Network for Women in Leadership and Women on Board - financed by the Progress program. When Project ended, CEA took over the management of the Database.

CEA’s Youth Initiative, in cooperation with EBRD: The initiative reflects the common effort of education providers and employers, recognizing the importance of addressing the mismatch between young people's skills and the expansion of economic opportunities for women in the transition process towards a competitive, market-driven economy that supports long-term sustainable growth.

The Association of Employers of Slovenia (ZDS) is the first voluntary employer association in Slovenia representing and protecting the interests of employers. Since 1994, various companies have united in this Association. In the private sector, half of all employees are employed by more than a thousand members, representing over half of the total capital in Slovenia. The social partnership among employers, the Government and trade unions provide for the arrangement of relations in the socio-economic area and stable business conditions for companies. Establishing the employers’ legal interests and framing common positions in relationship to social partners is subject to a successful implementation of expectations and requirements of employers. The power of an association as a partner in the negotiations namely depends both on the power and influence of members as well as the association abundance. ZDS is a full member of BUSINESSEUROPE, a member of the IOE (International Organisation of Employers, which is organized within the International Labour Association (ILO), a member of the BIAC (Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD), member of CEE Initiative and also a member of AREC (Assembly of Adriatic Region Employers’ Centre). The National Union of Employers (NUE) is the biggest employers organization in Slovakia, which associates two thirds of employers producing 70 percent of GDP and 80 percent of the Slovak export. The NUE was established on 30th March 2004 in Bratislava with the intent to protect common employers´ interests, business rights and citizens freedom as well as to protect the members against the measures leading to the degradation of the equal market business environment. The NUE pursues its activities on the principles of voluntariness, freedom of opinion and manifestation and political affiliation freedom.

In accordance with the fulfillment of the relevant goals, the NUE analyses and evaluates the legislative conditions of doing business with the emphasis on the practical knowledge of its members, co-ordinates proceedings of its members with the focus on the main goals of active participation in establishment and implementation of the economic and social policy of the state and preparation and creation of legal enactments regarding to important common employers´ interests, mainly in labor-law, social, tax and wage area. The NUE co-operates with the state authorities and the bodies of the regional governments, with representative associations of labor unions, commercial and industry chambers, as well as with the other organizations representing local and foreign entrepreneurs and employers.

MGYOSZ/BUSINESSHUNGARY is the most prestigious and most influential representative organization based on voluntarism.
